Join us for a summer of fun, learning and growth!
Campers between ages 4 to 13 love the hands-on learning opportunities and the different topics covered every week. Students complete crafts, do research, complete projects, do presentations, play games, and engage in learning activities that allow them to grow and thrive throughout the summer months.
Step Up Academy has a long history of offering learning opportunities to students from preschool to Grade 12 that are relevant and responsive to their needs. We work with children throughout the school year to offer tutoring and enrichment classes after school and on the weekend. Our work is rooted in the philosophy that all students can grow and thrive with the right supports and resources. Our programs for summer learning continue this effort to engage children in growth with our summer tutoring programs and academic summer camp throughout the day.

What makes Step Up Academy’s Academic Summer Camp so Popular?
Step Up Academy is known for summer learning programs that are engaging and responsive to student learning needs. The Academic Summer Camp is an opportunity for students to engage in fun learning throughout the summer to avoid the summer slump as well as continue growing. Some exciting parts of our program include:
- STEAM based activities for each weekly theme.
- Project-Based Learning opportunities allowing students to choose their focus for the week and learn about things that engage them.
- Public Speaking Skills development and presentation opportunities.
- Arts and Crafts to engage the artist in every child.
- Science experiments to excite students with hands on learning opportunities.
- Engaging reading and writing opportunities.
- Math challenges to show students the connections between mathematical concepts and the real world.

Lunch & Snacks
Students bring in their own lunch and snacks along with a water bottle. Step Up Academy is a nut free zone. Families will be sent home with additional information if there are more allergies to note.
Drop Off and Pick Up
Early drop off is available starting at 8AM. This is a free option for families but we need to be notified if this option will be used at the beginning of camp. Camp activities begin at 9AM. Camp activities finish at 4:30PM and students must be picked up by 5PM. If later pickup is needed, please email us at info@stepupacademy.ca and we will see how we can accommodate.
Frequently Asked Questions
- 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM – Early Drop Off, students will be with their teacher and complete minds on activities
- 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM – Morning Warm Up, teachers connect with the students as a group, conduct a welcome circle and introduce the day’s activities
- 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM – Block 1 Activities – learning activities, centers, crafts and projects connected to the weekly theme
- 10:30 AM to 10:45 AM – Morning Break – snack, water, washroom, movement break, etc.
- 10:45 AM to 12:15 PM – Block 2 Activities – learning activities, centers, crafts and projects connected to the weekly theme
- 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM – Lunch – students eat in camp and then go outside to play
- 1:15 PM to 2:45 PM – Block 3 Activities – learning activities, centers, crafts and projects connected to the weekly theme
- 2:45 PM to 3:00 PM – Afternoon Break – snack, water, washroom, movement break, etc.
- 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM – Block 4 Activities – learning activities, centers, crafts and projects connected to the weekly theme
- 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM – Pickup
Educational Summer camp for preschoolers is difficult to find at times, but that’s our speciality. We know what a strong early childhood education program requires, and we purposefully plan activities to engage our students. We know they cannot sit for long and focus for hours on end. So we plan with their needs in mind.
